The Warsaw Math Team competed in Cole Camp, Missouri on Saturday, February 24th. The team took 19 mathletes to the competition. This year the team was put in the large division and competed against schools with enrollments five times the size of Warsaw’s. Excelsior Springs, Lee’s Summit North, Raytown, Camdenton, Smith Cotton, and Holden were some of the schools at the competition. Warsaw’s team finished in fifth place.

Word Problems 10: Henry Breshears (7th), Elsie Hughes (8th) and Jessie Bilderback (10th); Word Problems 11: Drake Murrell (8th) and Michael Schliefert (10th); Word Problems (12th): Erin Goodpaster (4th) and Sarah Gilbert (10th); Calculus: Lovlie Haidusek (10th); Algebra 9: Eden Gilley (9th); Algebra 10: Henry Breshears (8th) and Wesley Jackson (9th); Algebra 11: Drake Murrell (5th), Logan Gemes (7th) and Ashlynn Adams (9th); Algebra 12: Lovlie Haidusek (4th), Charlotte Alspaugh (5th), Hannah Wooldridge (6th), and Alyson Alcantara (10th); Algebra (open): Sarah Gilbert (9th) and Erin Goodpaster (10th); Analytic Geometry: Logan Gemes (7th); Trigonometry: Wesley Jackson (4th) and Drake Murrell (9th); Prob and Stats: Ashlynn Adams (6th), Erin Goodpaster (7th), and Charlotte Alspaugh (9th); Hodge Podge: Logan Gemes (4th) and Hannah Wooldridge (8th); Random Science: Henry Breshears (1st) and Erin Goodpaster (6th); Mental Math (9-10): Eden Gilley (5th), Wesley Jackson (6th), and Jordan Dove (10th); Mental Math (11-12): Ashlynn Adams (4th) and Parker Gemes (9th).
Team 10 consisting of Jessie Bilderback, Parker Gemes, Brayden Henderson, and Elsie Hughes placed 5th. Team 11 mathletes of Henry Breshears, Logan Gemes, Drake Murrell, and Michael Schliefert placed 3rd. Alyson Alcantara, Charlotte Alspaugh, Sarah Gilbert, and Erin Goodpaster were the mathletes of Team 12 and they placed 5th. The mixed team finished the day with a gold medal! Freshman Jordan Dove, sophomore Wesley Jackson, junior Ashlynn Adams, and senior Lovlie Haidusek were the mathletes that competed as the mixed team. Henry Breshears ended the day in the top sophomore category. He placed as the 5th top sophomore.
Pictured here is the team at Cole Camp and the seniors. This year’s math club seniors that attended the Cole Camp competition have their plans set for after graduation. President Lovlie Haidusek is attending Missouri State University to study International Business. Vice President Hannah Wooldridge has been accepted to Missouri S & T and will study Astrophysics. Treasurer Alyson Alcantara is going to Southern Baptist University to get a degree in English education. Charlotte Alspaugh will be rooming with Hannah at Missouri S & T; she will be studying environmental engineering. Sarah Gilbert is going to be an aesthetician and will be attending trade school in Sedalia, MO. Erin Goodpaster is planning to join the workforce after graduation.
